Gianela Liendo Fuentes
Social Work Intern
Born in Peru and raised on Long Island, Gianela is proud to be a first generation immigrant. She is passionate about advocating for meaningful immigration reform/rights and was a DACA recipient during her educational career. Gianela received her B.A. degree in Psychology and Sociology from SUNY Stony Brook University.
During her undergraduate studies, Gianela volunteered as a crisis counselor for RESPONSE crisis center and was a psychology research assistant. Her experience in these roles and a six month trip abroad to Peru, was what impassioned her to pursue her Master's Degree in Social Work at Fordham's Graduate School of Social Service, and lead her to complete her field placement as a social work intern with CARECEN this year.
