Growing up in Suffolk County NY as a second-generation Afghan daughter of Immigrant refugees, Ferida bore witness to the injustices and inequalities of immigration law against minority communities. Ferida is pursuing her passion for immigration law by attending the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Ferida is also one of the first Long Island Immigration Advocacy Fellows in New York and is excited to help bring social justice to minority communities in Long Island. Ferida started at CARECEN as a summer legal intern for the Removal Defense Team. Currently, Ferida is working as a Legal Intern for the Special Projects Team.
