ESL Literacy Tutor
Volunteer Opportunity
CARECEN seeks Literacy Tutors to help change lives by assisting adult learners in our ESOL classes develop and improve their reading, writing, and verbal English skills.
By developing literacy and language skills, our students are better equipped to tackle everyday tasks at the grocery store or workplace while working towards achieving life goals such as:
Preparing for (and passing!) citizenship tests
Earning their high school diploma or GED
Advancing their work opportunities
Supporting their children’s education
And overall personal satisfaction
This is a great opportunity for college students, retirees, or anyone interested in dedicating their time and language skills to serve their community. Literacy Tutors receive a rewarding experience to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and learn more about ESOL and literacy fields.
