Representation for Central American
Children and Families
We help Central American children and families facing deportation that have resettled in Nassau and Suffolk counties, assessing available avenues of relief and providing them with legal representation.
Tens of thousands of Central American children and families come to the U.S. every year seeking protection from violence and danger in their home countries. Since 2014, Long Island has become home to thousands of these immigrants.
When an immigrant has legal representation, he or she is 14 times more likely to win their deportation case. But, unfortunately for many recently-arrived immigrants on Long Island, accessing high quality pro bono legal services is impossible.
CARECEN fills this gap in services by providing legal representation for Central American children and families facing deportation. We are driven by our commitment to expand legal counsel and representation to this vulnerable and resilient community.
