Get Out The Vote

#GOTV | Our Work
This year, CARECEN joined other nonprofits on Long Island and across the country to Get Out The Vote. Before the June 23rd primary, volunteers and students from Hofstra University worked with CARECEN staff on the REMAP program, funded by the NYIC, which focuses on engaging the "Rising American Electorate" (RAE) which includes communities of color, new Americans, newly eligible voters, low-income communities, and those who may not have voted in recent years or are unlikely to vote in upcoming elections. The program includes social media outreach, text banking and phone banking across Long Island through election day.
CARECEN believes that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and wants every voter to believe that their vote does matter - not just this year, but every year and every day! Your vote is your voice, and we need everyone's voice at the table!
This is your community and your community deserves to be heard, respected, and reflected in local, state and federal government. Your vote is your voice! Don't let your voice be silenced - register to vote, request your ballot, and vote today!

Our Volunteers
CARECEN's long-standing partnership with Hofstra University expanded this year to include our Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaign. In June, CARECEN staff and volunteers sent out 15,000 text messages! For the general election, we surpassed our goals of sending 50,000 text messages and making 13,000 phone calls to Long Island potential voters. We had over a twenty active volunteers and interns working on this project and welcome anyone else who would like to join the cause! Follow us on social media and be sure to use the hashtags #GetOutThe Vote and #VoteReady.
You do not have to be a member of the Hofstra community to volunteer.
