CARECEN's advocacy educates governmental and enforcement bodies, as well as other key stakeholders, about the needs of immigrant communities on Long Island. Our goal is to empower the immigrant community so that they in turn may lead these efforts in the years to come.

In practice, these efforts translate into discussions with local police departments about dissociating immigration enforcement from law enforcement and ensuring language access for immigrant Long Islanders; educating local government and members of the judiciary about the changing needs of immigrant communities in Nassau and Suffolk counties; and engaging in advocacy initiatives at the state and federal levels to uphold the rights of new Americans.

We empower community members and educate legislative and enforcement bodies about the needs and rights of immigrant communities on Long Island.
